Karaoke star, television celebrity and model, In Solynday, held press conference at the Phnom Penh office of local rights group Licadho on September 2, 2009 after the municipality court acquitted Mr. Chea Ratha, former military police chief, who was accused of orchestrating acid attack of star’s aunt In Soknim last year.

Speaking with tear rolling down through her face, Solynda said that she had two-yearlong relationship with Ms.Chea Ratha. The love between her and Chea Ratha broke, and then the threat came.

Soklynda also added that she was forced to stay with Ms. Ratha who beat her, imprisoned her and held her at gunpoint on several occasion. By the way, Solynda said Ms. Ratha loves her but she refused because she does not like women.

In addition, she claimed that she tried to escape from Ms. Ratha many times but each time the Military police chief would threaten her and her family with violence.
